This is a unique opportunity to dive into the practice of Bhakti Yoga and create real transformation in your life. One of the cornerstones of Bhakti Yoga is devotional singing, which we also call kirtan. Kirtan is an ancient Yogic practice of devotion, especially towards life and our divine potential. Through kirtan we lose ourselves in music and get a glimpse of the state of higher-self. Bhakti Yoga is the most direct method to experience the unity of mind, body and spirit. The mantras we chant are sacred callings for the divine to appear in our hearts and infuse us with love and compassion for others.

Many people report feeling joyful and blissful as a result of kirtan and mantra chanting and this bhakti yoga practice is said to:

  • Induce a powerful sense of oneness with the Divine (irrespective of one's religion)
  • Induce trance like meditative states of altered consciousness
  • Open the heart, allowing for greater connection and a sense of community
Although kirtan involves music, the underlying art of kirtan chanting is not actually about musical ability or training - it is about the heart. The purpose of chanting is to get us out of our heads and into our hearts. Everyone can participate, regardless of age, cultural or religious background.

Bhakti Yoga Retreat is a comprehensive and full on program that will give you the tools you need to develop and maintain a deep and long lasting yoga and kirtan practice for a lifetime. By taking three weeks out of your life and devoting them to yoga, meditation and kirtan, you open up new possibilities for your life to improve and expand. Think of this as the best gift you can offer to yourself.

Besides learning to maintain a daily yoga practice with in-depth understanding and knowledge of how to correctly perform breathing exercises, pre-asanas, asanas and dynamic flow sequences, you will also learn to find stillness within and learn why yoga is not so much about "doing" but about "being".

You will develop physical and mental strength, flexibility in body as well as in life and stability in your physical body and in your emotions. This is the gift of yoga – it works on all levels of our being.

In addition to the regular daily retreat program, you also receive a daily 2 hours class in Bhakti Yoga and kirtan, where you learn to chant many mantras and where you also learn basic harmonium playing as an accompaniment to your chanting.

This retreat program runs all year round but we do ask that you make your booking in advance. You should arrive to our centre after 3pm on the day prior to your program start date, the next 21 days being your retreat and departure being on the morning after your last day.   • 22 nights accommodation on twin sharing basis with attached bathroom
  • Dinner on the day of arrival and breakfast on the day of departure

(Varies from day to day between Japa Meditation, Inner Sound, Antar Mouna, Mantra Meditation, Breath Meditation, Silent Meditation)

7:45am Yoga nasal cleansing with neti pot
8:00am Morning Yoga
(Pranayama, Dynamic Hatha Yoga & Static Asanas)
10:00am Yogic Brunch (Breakfast & Lunch together)
11:00am Wellness Activities
(Aromatherapy Steam Bath, Mud Bath, Himalayan Salt Fragrant Foot Bath, Aromatherapy Steam Inhalation, Self-massage with various massage tools provided)
Afternoon
12:30pm Nada Yoga
Sound immersion with gong, ancient singing bowls, bells, ocean drum, wine chain & happy drum.
1:00pm Leisure Time
(Time to rest and relax in our garden, read, explore the area, meditate, self-practice, hike, swim in nearby resort’s swimming pool for a small fee)
3:00pm Herbal Tea Time with Light Snacks
3:30pm Bhakti Yoga
(Chanting of mantras and kirtan)

(Dynamic Hatha with elements of Flow, Power, Ashtanga and Vinyasa)
5:30pm Yoga Nidra
(Guided relaxation and visualisation)
6:00pm Yogic Dinner & Dessert
7:30pm Silent Meditation
(We end the day with silence - in a candle-lit yoga hall, with Buddha and powerful Mahamitreonjaya Mantra)
